Hang around. The Ambassador of Tanzania in Austria, Celestine Mushy has died in an accident that happened in the Mkata area of Handeni district in this region.
Mushy was appointed by President Samia Suluhu as the Ambassador of Tanzania to Austria in January this year and on May 5, 2022 he presented his Identity Documents to the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen.
Speaking to Mwananchi today, Thursday December 15, 2022, the Head of Handeni District, Siriel Mchembe said that the ambassador who was alone was driving himself from Dar es Salaam to Moshi in Kilimanjaro region.
Mchembe said that the accident happened the other day on Tuesday night where the body of the ambassador was found burnt.
"We took the ambassador's body from the accident site at night and we have brought it to our District Hospital. His relatives are on the way from Mbezi Dar es Salaam and they are coming to pick it up," said Mchembe.
When asked about the death of the ambassador, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Joseph Sokoine said his ministry has not received official information, if they get it they will confirm it.
"We have not received that information, we will confirm, we will tell you," said Ambassador Sokoine
